If Floris den Hertogh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Leendert Horring fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cees Zegeling couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Schiphol S.V. getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Stephan Kort hit a great ball. Jan Huizen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Edgard Kikkert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Kikkert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert den Hartog, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Brandevoort booed when Schiphol S.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Folkert Deijnen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Schiphol S.V.'s Wesley Wemers got a free kick in the 37th minute. Edgard Kikkert made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Huizen in the 41st minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Gert den Hartog recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rolf Karremans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johan Temen having to interfere. Floris den Hertogh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 59th minute of the match, Wesley Wemers got a very nice opportunity to score, but Johan Temen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jan Huizen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Kikkert having to interfere. Gert den Hartog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Edgard Kikkert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Wesley Wemers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schiphol S.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Wesley Wemers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johan Temen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 75 minutes into the match, Schiphol S.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jan Huizen came free, but Edgard Kikkert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Schiphol S.V.'s Edgard Kikkert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Huizen in the 77th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wesley Wemers in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johan Temen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 83rd minute Gert den Hartog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Kikkert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 played minutes Schiphol S.V. got a freekick which was hit by Stephan Kort. 85 minutes into the match, Brandevoort's Jan Huizen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgard Kikkert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87th minute of the match Leendert Brons sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgard Kikkert skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert den Hartog in the 89th minute of play forced Schiphol S.V.'s goalkeeper Edgard Kikkert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Schiphol S.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jan Huizen came free, but Edgard Kikkert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute Floris den Hertogh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johan Temen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Floris den Hertogh came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Schiphol S.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Floris den Hertogh couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Schiphol S.V. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
