Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Niels-Jan Holthuis got the match started through his kick off. Leon Zethof hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Jan Vedder kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After 6 played minutes Malden got a freekick which was hit by Niels-Jan Holthuis. Aad Daamen made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Damien Piening sent off a good shot on target. Aad Daamen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan Vedder's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Marinus Seedorf took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joost Tinge. Tokalmar FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 15th minute, Govert Numan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 21 minutes, Damien Piening managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tokalmar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damien Piening was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Vedder in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aad Daamen saved Malden from getting behind. If Jan Vedder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damien Piening received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Aad Daamen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denny Evans was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Malden booed when Tokalmar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denny Evans didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Niels-Jan Holthuis came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Malden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niels-Jan Holthuis couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Jan van Beukering's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joost Tinge was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. In the 42nd match minute, Malden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel van der Gun to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 47 in the game by Govert Numan from a close distance when the talented Aad Daamen managed to make a qualified save. Malden's players were relieved.

Damien Piening sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damien Piening scored 1-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aad Daamen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Niels-Jan Holthuis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tokalmar FC's zone, Jan van Beukering stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joost Tinge came out of the goal and Jan van Beukering tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th minute, Malden's Niels-Jan Holthuis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Damien Piening fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aad Daamen having to interfere. Jan van Beukering received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Joost Tinge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Malden's Niels-Jan Holthuis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joost Tinge. That made the score 1-3 after 82 minutes of play. Niels-Jan Holthuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Joost Tinge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
