The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christiaan Rieks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After taking down the ball on Ooy S.C.'s corner Damien Wermans fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hans Boezem quite easily take care of the ball. Donald Zeijlemaker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Boezem having to interfere. The long shot by Werner de Zwart in the 20th minute really tested Hans Boezem's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Hette Zwartkruis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Boezem having to interfere. Hans Boezem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hette Zwartkruis in the 34th minute of play. In the 39th minute Christiaan Rieks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jelle Saelman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klaas Jan Verweijen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jelle Saelman having to interfere. Klaas Jan Verweijen struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Jelle Saelman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Couwelaar. In the 52nd minute, David Rijaard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 56 played minutes Ooy S.C. got a freekick which was hit by David Rijaard. Jelle Saelman was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gio Rodenboog. David Rijaard was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. David Rijaard hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Donald Zeijlemaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Hans Boezem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elbert Daelemans during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ooy S.C. booed when Couwelaar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elbert Daelemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Donald Zeijlemaker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ooy S.C.'s zone, Christiaan Rieks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jelle Saelman came out of the goal and Christiaan Rieks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jelle Saelman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaas Jan Verweijen in the 87th minute of the match. A collision led to Ooy S.C. getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Bernard Reis hit a great ball. Hette Zwartkruis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Hans Boezem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Donald Zeijlemaker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernard Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
