Martien Hammen struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Tom van der Sar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Annerveen HC. Beerserveen's Tom van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martien Hammen in the 8th minute of play. Martien Hammen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom van der Sar having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martien Hammen in the 13th minute of play forced Beerserveen's goalkeeper Tom van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luc van den Brink took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Taco Oortwijn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hub Ensing scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luc van den Brink, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Annerveen HC's Martien Hammen was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 45th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Taco Oortwijn to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Beerserveen's goal looked a bit too open when Martien Hammen came free, but Tom van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Annerveen HC's goalkeeper Luc van den Brink, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Taco Oortwijn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jurjen van Zeggeren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tom van der Sar having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Jurjen van Zeggeren put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tom van der Sar. Hub Ensing made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 72ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Luc van den Brink would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 75th minute, Hub Ensing left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Beerserveen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. In the 82nd minute Jurjen van Zeggeren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Beerserveen's goal looked a bit too open when Jurjen van Zeggeren came free, but Tom van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Annerveen HC's goalkeeper Luc van den Brink had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Taco Oortwijn. Taco Oortwijn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
