Zweth's Demy Randag played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Sandbergen in the 4th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jhon Zoontjens to make the kick off. In the 59th minute of the match Ricky de Jong sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marc Boekholt skillfully saved the ball. When Klaas Jan Meijer fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zweth's protests and gave Klaas Jan Meijer a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Nieuwerhoek HC booed when Zweth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klaas Jan Meijer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Penalty! 93 minutes into the match, Filip van Kempen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Demy Randag. Zweth's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filip van Kempen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 96 minutes into the game, Tommie van der Bij cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Marc Boekholt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 101 minutes into the game, Nieuwerhoek HC's Ted Sandbergen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Demy Randag made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Nieuwerhoek HC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
