The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emil Mussies made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yorrick Derksen in the 5th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arjen Maes in the 11th minute of play forced Ankeveen's goalkeeper Benjamin van den Bergh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emil Mussies showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin Huizing, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 20th minute of the match Bjorn Springelkamp sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin van den Bergh skillfully saved the ball. When Yorrick Derksen came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Ankeveen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yorrick Derksen couldn't finish the play. Ger Abbenbroek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Benjamin van den Bergh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Benjamin Huizing came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ankeveen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Huizing couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 52nd minute Arjen Maes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin van den Bergh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th match minute, Belgenhoek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Demy Arends to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Emil Mussies successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mickael Baatenburg's late challenge caught a Belgenhoek's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mickael Baatenburg helped the player get up and apologised. Mickael Baatenburg hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Benjamin Huizing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Mussies having to interfere. If Yorrick Derksen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henk-Jan Jeronimus's late challenge caught a Ankeveen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Huizing who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Emil Mussies when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Henk-Jan Jeronimus got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 85th minute, Benjamin Huizing got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benjamin van den Bergh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ger Abbenbroek, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. If Ger Abbenbroek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
