Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Coos Hagenouw started the match with the kick off. Wilfried Spanjer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Geale Busch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Coos Hagenouw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Pascall Veenema tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Westenesch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gert Hilkes to maneuver through the defense. Wilfried Spanjer struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Henk-Jan Ruiter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Welsum. In the 17thth minute of the game Coos Hagenouw who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Welsum's Pascall Veenema was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19th minute, Wilfried Spanjer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Welsum fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With a little luck, Welsum's Pascall Veenema got control of the ball when Jacobus Cales tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 24 minutes of play, Welsum's Geale Busch made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Henk-Jan Ruiter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jacobus Cales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascall Veenema having to interfere. Pascall Veenema stood somewhat misplaced when Jacobus Cales came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 32 minute. After having played for 38 minutes, Geale Busch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Welsum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geale Busch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilfried Spanjer in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henk-Jan Ruiter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilfried Spanjer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk-Jan Ruiter having to interfere. Wilfried Spanjer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Henk-Jan Ruiter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The wind increased when Geale Busch made the kick off in the second half. Henk-Jan Ruiter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geale Busch in the 59th minute of the match. After 59 minutes, Gijs Blanker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Westenesch and the Welsum players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Westenesch's Gijs Blanker got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Westenesch's zone, Geale Busch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henk-Jan Ruiter came out of the goal and Geale Busch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Berry Remmelts's late challenge caught a Welsum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Berry Remmelts helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd match minute, Westenesch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berry Remmelts to maneuver through the defense. Coos Hagenouw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascall Veenema having to interfere. Pascall Veenema showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Coos Hagenouw in the 73rd minute of the match. Coos Hagenouw struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Pascall Veenema didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westenesch. 82 minutes into the match, Westenesch's Jacobus Cales sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pascall Veenema narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Westenesch getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Gert Hilkes hit a great ball. Jacobus Cales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Welsum's Pascall Veenema played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacobus Cales in the 91st minute of play. After having played for 97 minutes, Jacobus Cales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westenesch's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacobus Cales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Welsum walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
