After 3 played minutes Meerzicht got a freekick which was hit by Ronald de Coninck. When Harald Lange came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Heijningen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harald Lange couldn't finish the play. If Harald Lange had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilfried Koerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Rieks in the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Heijningen's Harald Lange ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sander Bulder. Sander Bulder yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Heijningen's Wilfried Koerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Dussel in the 31st minute of play. If Jan Dussel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mark Rieks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benjamin Hulshof sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilfried Koerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Rieks, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 62nd minute, Heijningen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jan Dussel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Mark Rieks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Wilfried Koerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sander Bulder was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Rieks in the 83rd minute of play forced Heijningen's goalkeeper Wilfried Koerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harald Lange in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sander Bulder saved Meerzicht from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Meerzicht's Ronald de Coninck got a free kick in the 86th minute. The Heijningen fans cheered their team off the field, for while Meerzicht had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
