Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Wilco Heubach got the match started through his kick off. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mostheuvel Excelsior! The referee gave Nieuwertera HC a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marick Reis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mostheuvel Excelsior's Ed Theunissen. 1-0. Ed Theunissen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sjors van Putten in the 8th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the game, Wilco Heubach cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Henk Piening was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Thijs Heide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Henry Pool shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henk Piening saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th match minute, Nieuwertera HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmar Holst to maneuver through the defense. Henry Pool sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henry Pool fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Piening having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Thijs Heide got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Nieuwertera HC defense, Wilco Heubach kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henk Piening. The Nieuwertera HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henk Piening should have stopped the shot. Henry Pool received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Henk Piening tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Nieuwertera HC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mostheuvel Excelsior were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sjors van Putten to strike the kick off in the second half. Thijs Heide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ed Theunissen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thijs Heide fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ed Theunissen having to interfere. Ed Theunissen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sjors van Putten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ed Theunissen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sjors van Putten in the 63rd minute of play. Henk Piening showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilco Heubach in the 67th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Mostheuvel Excelsior's Coos Kremer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 83 minutes into the match, Nieuwertera HC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilco Heubach came free, but Henk Piening reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nieuwertera HC's Henk Piening proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Nieuwertera HC from getting a goal against them. If Wilco Heubach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elmar Holst hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When Martien Valx fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mostheuvel Excelsior's protests and gave Martien Valx a yellow card for diving instead.
