Meindert Oss kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lesterhuis V.V.'s goalkeeper Timo Steyns, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Yuri van der Doelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lesterhuis V.V.'s Timo Steyns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Luijpers in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yuri van der Doelen got free with Timo Steyns in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 43 minutes, Vincent Kristoffers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beerenplaat FC and the Lesterhuis V.V. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Beerenplaat FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lesterhuis V.V. were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cor Woering made a kick off. Lesterhuis V.V.'s Chris Helwig got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Yuri van der Doelen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beerenplaat FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Yuri van der Doelen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timo Steyns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Lesterhuis V.V.'s Henk van der Schaaf got a free kick in the 62nd minute. With a little luck, Beerenplaat FC's Bas Stuijvenberg got control of the ball when Chris Helwig tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Beerenplaat FC's zone, Cor Woering stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bas Stuijvenberg came out of the goal and Cor Woering tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bas Stuijvenberg made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Chris Helwig sent off a good shot on target. Bas Stuijvenberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cor Woering, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute.
