Werner Zuidema showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arie Spiering in the 25th minute of the match. If Karsten Ijspol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karsten Ijspol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Werner Zuidema having to interfere. If Arie Spiering had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Karsten Ijspol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Werner Zuidema was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stefano Deitmers to strike the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Klaas Booy couldn't finish the play. Ton Mueller got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 71st match minute, Schiedam FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ton Mueller to maneuver through the defense. Stefano Deitmers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Schiedam FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Schiedam FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
