Egchelheide FC's Martijn Huiting played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boukjan Redan in the 10th minute of play. Boukjan Redan struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Martijn Huiting didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moerwijk FC. Menno Stam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Bunt in the 19th minute of the match. Menno Stam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Bunt, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If Erik Bunt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frederik Willemses short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Menno Stam to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 39 minutes, Pieter Schiphouwer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moerwijk FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pieter Schiphouwer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans Otten kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Moerwijk FC got a freekick which was hit by Koen Theisens. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erik Bunt was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Pieter Schiphouwer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martijn Huiting. Egchelheide FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pieter Schiphouwer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Martijn Huiting didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pieter Schiphouwer went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 73rd minute, Harmen Stevens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes in the game, Boukjan Redan fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Martijn Huiting having to interfere. After some careless play in the Moerwijk FC defense, Frederik Willemse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Menno Stam. The Moerwijk FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Menno Stam should have stopped the shot. In the 84thth minute of the game Erik Bunt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moerwijk FC's Menno Stam was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Egchelheide FC's Erik Bunt got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Egchelheide FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Harmen Stevens hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Egchelheide FC's zone, Pieter Schiphouwer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martijn Huiting came out of the goal and Pieter Schiphouwer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
