The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iwan Aelbrecht sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stephan van Zaanen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oscar Struik having to make a save. In the 11th minute Klaus Apotheker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Struik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Zwartbroek's Leon Onrust got a free kick in the 14th minute. Klaus Apotheker struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Oscar Struik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zoutelande. After a rather tough play, Zoutelande's Stephan van Zaanen got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute, Iwan Aelbrecht fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fabiën Owusu Abeyie, passed just outside the right post. After 32 played minutes Zwartbroek got a freekick which was hit by Tom Caluwé. Oscar Struik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaus Apotheker in the 36th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Klaus Apotheker made a kick off. Zwartbroek's Oscar Struik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Zwartbroek from getting a goal against them. Oscar Struik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaus Apotheker, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Stephan van Zaanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 72 minutes, Klaus Apotheker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zoutelande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Klaus Apotheker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zoutelande's Stephan van Zaanen got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 75 played minutes Zwartbroek got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Naaijer. Rinus Kamps kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, one of Zwartbroek:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Zwartbroek:s Oscar Struik showed great skill when he stopped Jan-Peter Hardering:s penalty. After 80 minutes of play, Zoutelande's Jan-Peter Hardering made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Struik was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Zwartbroek booed when Zoutelande was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roderick Craandijk didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Zwartbroek's Rinus Kamps got a free kick in the 94th minute. Oscar Struik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaus Apotheker, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Zoutelande's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
