Kees Ieberts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenneth Weerman in the 4th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Zuiderpark got a freekick which was hit by Jean-Paul Heuving. Albert den Engelsman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sjef Nagel firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 12th match minute, IJzendijke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hendrik Redan to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Serge van der Werff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sjef Nagel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Keupink, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 18 minutes, Albert den Engelsman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IJzendijke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albert den Engelsman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kees Ieberts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth Weerman, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. IJzendijke's Kees Ieberts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serge van der Werff in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in IJzendijke's zone, Serge van der Werff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kees Ieberts came out of the goal and Serge van der Werff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sjef Nagel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Keupink, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Albert den Engelsman got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Barry Keupink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serge van der Werff in the 46th minute of play forced IJzendijke's goalkeeper Kees Ieberts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albert den Engelsman struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Sjef Nagel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IJzendijke. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Barry Keupink to strike the kick off in the second half. Serge van der Werff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind IJzendijke's goalkeeper Kees Ieberts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Serge van der Werff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kees Ieberts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Albert den Engelsman struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Sjef Nagel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IJzendijke. Lennart Elshot's late challenge caught a IJzendijke's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lennart Elshot helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute, Lennart Elshot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Kenneth Weerman made a precise shot to the right of Kees Ieberts. IJzendijke's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Zuiderpark walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
