Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Klaas Sanders started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arjen van der Doelen got free with Ed Hofman in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ed Hofman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Palsma in the 8th minute of play. Arjen van der Doelen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Ed Hofman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dennis Palsma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Ed Hofman made a huge save. A collision led to Poortvliet getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Fabiën Carel hit a great ball. Yorrick Poels blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joeri van Zelst having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Yorrick Poels managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poortvliet's supporters rose to their feet, but Yorrick Poels was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joeri van Zelst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 28 played minutes Deurzen HC got a freekick which was hit by Ron Lange. Arjen van der Doelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Poortvliet's Jelmer Boekholt got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

52 minutes into the match, Deurzen HC's Dennis Palsma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ed Hofman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Poortvliet's Yorrick Poels got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ed Hofman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arjen van der Doelen, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Poortvliet's Jelmer Boekholt got a free kick in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Deurzen HC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Mark Kostermans hit a great ball. In the 71st minute, Klaas Sanders fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Joeri van Zelst, passed just outside the right post. When Fabiën Carel came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Poortvliet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabiën Carel couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, Klaas Sanders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Deurzen HC booed when Poortvliet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dick Vaalman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ed Hofman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Palsma in the 90th minute of play. Fabiën Carel kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After 92 played minutes, Deurzen HC's Ron Lange shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ed Hofman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deurzen HC reached it. Bernard Visscher hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
