Bakenberg FC's Patrick van der Velden proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Bakenberg FC from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gertjan Redan in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roger Bas saved Foxham from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rudolf Weggemans during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Bakenberg FC booed when Foxham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Weggemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Gertjan Redan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roger Bas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Broos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frits Roswinkel took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrick van der Velden. Patrick van der Velden dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Steve Grijpstra charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Steve Grijpstra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 26 minutes into the game, one of Bakenberg FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Frits Roswinkel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Patrick van der Velden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Bakenberg FC's Ralph Zorge got a free kick in the 32nd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stefan Broos made a kick off. Stefan Broos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Broos in the 58th minute of play forced Foxham's goalkeeper Roger Bas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Bram Vroom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick van der Velden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick van der Velden came out of the goal and Bram Vroom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Gertjan Redan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bakenberg FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gertjan Redan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
