Kurt Zevenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bram Vroom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kurt Zevenberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bram Vroom went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Foxham's Roger Bas got control of the ball when Roelof Mans tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th match minute, Foxham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stijn van der Laan to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the game, Jurre Zeydeveld was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Foxham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ospel Excelsior the free kick. Jurre Zeydeveld kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Roger Bas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepijn Kersten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, Ospel Excelsior's Pepijn Kersten ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roger Bas. Roger Bas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Pepijn Kersten might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roger Bas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pepijn Kersten ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Foxham's zone, Roelof Mans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Bas came out of the goal and Roelof Mans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Foxham's Roger Bas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pepijn Kersten in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, one of Ospel Excelsior:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ospel Excelsior:s Kurt Zevenberg showed great skill when he stopped Thijs Koning:s penalty. After 39 minutes of play, Foxham's Thijs Koning made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kurt Zevenberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Ospel Excelsior booed when Foxham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Weggemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frits Roswinkel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bram Vroom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Ospel Excelsior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Boerma to maneuver through the defense. Yuri Eringa charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yuri Eringa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Yuri Eringa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bram Vroom spun around in front of the goal 60 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Ospel Excelsior's goal. 67 minutes into the game, Ospel Excelsior's Pepijn Kersten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger Bas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 71 minutes into the match, Ospel Excelsior's goalkeeper Kurt Zevenberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bram Vroom. Frits Roswinkel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Kurt Zevenberg made a huge save. Frits Roswinkel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Zevenberg having to interfere. Bram Vroom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Kurt Zevenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roelof Mans struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Roger Bas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ospel Excelsior.
