After 4 played minutes Zoeterwoude FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnout Waesbergen. Carsten Veltman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristof Wijkstra having to interfere. Kristof Wijkstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carsten Veltman in the 8th minute of play. Albert Need fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marnix Plescher having to interfere. After 11 played minutes Zwolle got a freekick which was hit by Marnix Zeeman. Carsten Veltman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Kristof Wijkstra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kelvin Staal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marnix Plescher having to interfere. The supporters of Zwolle booed when Zoeterwoude FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carsten Veltman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Albert Need managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zwolle's supporters rose to their feet, but Albert Need was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marnix Plescher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 29 in the game by Kelvin Staal from a close distance when the talented Marnix Plescher managed to make a qualified save. Zoeterwoude FC's players were relieved. Albert Need fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marnix Plescher having to interfere. Zwolle's Kristof Wijkstra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carsten Veltman in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carsten Veltman in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kristof Wijkstra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Albert Need's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marnix Plescher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Kristof Wijkstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carsten Veltman in the 43rd minute of play. During the 47th minute of the match Marnix Zeeman completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marnix Zeeman a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 48 played minutes Zwolle got a freekick which was hit by Marnix Zeeman. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
After 52 minutes, Henk Waterman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zoeterwoude FC and the Zwolle players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Zoeterwoude FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Henk Waterman hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Zwolle defense, Henk Waterman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kristof Wijkstra. The Zwolle fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kristof Wijkstra should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kelvin Staal in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marnix Plescher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 65 minutes into the match, Zwolle's goalkeeper Kristof Wijkstra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henk Waterman. Zoeterwoude FC's Henk Waterman got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute of the match Joris van den Berg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kristof Wijkstra showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferdinant Dol during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ferdinant Dol hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Zoeterwoude FC's Carsten Veltman ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kristof Wijkstra. Kristof Wijkstra yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Kristof Wijkstra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henk Waterman in the 77th minute. Carsten Veltman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Kristof Wijkstra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
