Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jan-Willem Gentenaar took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jan-Willem Gentenaar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Steven Anneese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ed Wesveld in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marnix Plescher saved Zoeterwoude FC from getting behind. 21 minutes into the match, Zoeterwoude FC's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Anneese came free, but Marnix Plescher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Zoeterwoude FC's Arnout Waesbergen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Theo Wagemakers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Jan-Willem Gentenaar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, Pieter Halen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Emmikhuizen HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zoeterwoude FC the free kick. 28 minutes into the game, one of Emmikhuizen HC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Zoeterwoude FC a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nigel Sandstra, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Emmikhuizen HC's Theo Wagemakers. 1-0. When Henk Waterman came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Zoeterwoude FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henk Waterman couldn't finish the play. When Job Hoogendorp fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Emmikhuizen HC's protests and gave Job Hoogendorp a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Job Hoogendorp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Carsten Veltman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zoeterwoude FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carsten Veltman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theo Wagemakers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Zoeterwoude FC's zone, Steven Anneese stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marnix Plescher came out of the goal and Steven Anneese tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan-Willem Gentenaar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Marnix Plescher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Steven Anneese's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marnix Plescher was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. After 48 played minutes Zoeterwoude FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnout Waesbergen. In the 49th minute, Pieter Halen sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Zoeterwoude FC's Marnix Plescher didn't even have to move. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carsten Veltman made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Carsten Veltman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Theo Wagemakers was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 61 played minutes Zoeterwoude FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnout Waesbergen. Jan-Willem Gentenaar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marnix Plescher having to interfere. Marnix Plescher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Willem Gentenaar in the 69th minute of the match. Theo Wagemakers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carsten Veltman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wim Paas lost his temper 74 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Zoeterwoude FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! Theo Wagemakers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henk Waterman in the 79th minute of the match. When Stephan Zwinkels came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Zoeterwoude FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stephan Zwinkels couldn't finish the play. Jan-Willem Gentenaar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marnix Plescher having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Emmikhuizen HC's Steven Anneese nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marnix Plescher made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Steven Anneese managed to get in a good position for a shot. Emmikhuizen HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Steven Anneese was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marnix Plescher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Emmikhuizen HC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
