Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of Zwolle:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Linden V.V.:s goal. The score was 1-0 after a penalty in the 8th minute, where Linden V.V.:s Jelmer van den Berg tricked Zwolle:s Kristof Wijkstra with a difficult ball by the left post. Jean-Paul Roelofs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Kristof Wijkstra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jean-Paul Roelofs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freek Spierenburg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kelvin Staal in the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Kelvin Staal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Linden V.V.'s goalkeeper Freek Spierenburg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Albert Need received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Freek Spierenburg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jean-Paul Roelofs fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Linden V.V.'s protests and gave Jean-Paul Roelofs a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd minute, Kelvin Staal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sipke Kuypers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristof Wijkstra having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Zwolle's zone, Sipke Kuypers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristof Wijkstra came out of the goal and Sipke Kuypers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Kelvin Staal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Zwolle's Kelvin Staal in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Linden V.V.'s goalie prevented a goal. Linden V.V.'s Sipke Kuypers got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jean-Paul Roelofs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kelvin Staal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Freek Spierenburg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Freek Spierenburg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kelvin Staal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 59 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sipke Kuypers in the 64th minute of play forced Zwolle's goalkeeper Kristof Wijkstra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sipke Kuypers took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kristof Wijkstra. Kristof Wijkstra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Sipke Kuypers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute Zwolle were awarded a corner. René Maes went to the cornerflag to take it. Albert Need was extremely unlucky when he, in the 78th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Rogier van der Meer kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Zwolle's René Maes got a free kick in the 88th minute. 89 minutes in the game, Jean-Paul Roelofs dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Sipke Kuypers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Ferdinant Dol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jean-Paul Roelofs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Kristof Wijkstra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Linden V.V. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Zwolle had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
