After 3 minutes, Marnix Theunissen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schonauwen and the Wierhuizen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joost Das stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marnix Theunissen's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Martien de Bruin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Teo van Zaanen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th match minute, Schonauwen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robin Derks to maneuver through the defense. Marnix Theunissen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joost Das firmly grabbed it by the left post. Teo van Zaanen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kees Ploeger went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 35 minutes into the match, Schonauwen's Marnix Theunissen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joost Das narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kees Ploeger was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kees Ploeger in the 51st minute of play forced Schonauwen's goalkeeper Teo van Zaanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Schonauwen's goal looked a bit too open when Kees Ploeger came free, but Teo van Zaanen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Marnix Theunissen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1.
