Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kevin Beuk in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Smit prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 12 minutes into the match, Houtsestraat's goal looked a bit too open when Diderik Waterman came free, but Han Kroon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 played minutes Wijnbergen HC got a freekick which was hit by Carel Duinhoven. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berend Coopman in the 17th minute of play forced Wijnbergen HC's goalkeeper Hugo Smit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th match minute, Wijnbergen HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sipke Mülder to maneuver through the defense. If Kevin Beuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Wijnbergen HC's zone, Kevin Beuk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Smit came out of the goal and Kevin Beuk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diderik Waterman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Han Kroon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Diderik Waterman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wijnbergen HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diderik Waterman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Houtsestraat's goalkeeper Han Kroon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martien Keupink. In the 48th minute Berend Coopman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Smit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diderik Waterman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Patrick van Schaik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Han Kroon having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Harris Dissels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martien Keupink received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Han Kroon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Houtsestraat's Berend Coopman got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Han Kroon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diderik Waterman, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. The audience was convinced that Berend Coopman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Smit was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Diderik Waterman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Han Kroon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patrick Legdeur during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 81 minutes, Martien Keupink managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wijnbergen HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martien Keupink was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 85 played minutes, Houtsestraat's Rob Tuyp shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hugo Smit came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Houtsestraat reached it. A hard shot 87 in the game by Kevin Beuk from a close distance when the talented Hugo Smit managed to make a qualified save. Wijnbergen HC's players were relieved. Berend Coopman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hugo Smit came out and tried to block the shot, but Berend Coopman slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 88th minute. 94 minutes into the game, Berend Coopman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hugo Smit. Berend Coopman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3.
