Aanschot HC's Adriaan Houtman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serge Krijnenburg in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Aanschot HC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Anton Boswijk hit a great ball. When Anton Boswijk got the opportunity to take care of a free kick, it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball hit the crossbar and flew out of bounds. Eddy Kiewit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Schalkwijk, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Aanschot HC's goal looked a bit too open when Coos Veenema came free, but Adriaan Houtman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Serge Krijnenburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marcus Bruintjes fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aanschot HC's protests and gave Marcus Bruintjes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st minute, Marcus Bruintjes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michael Schalkwijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michael Schalkwijk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eddy Kiewit having to make a save. Anton Boswijk took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eddy Kiewit. Eddy Kiewit dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Anton Boswijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 45 minutes into the match, Vreeswijk HC's goalkeeper Eddy Kiewit had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anton Boswijk. Jeffrey de Boer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eddy Kiewit. Vreeswijk HC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Coos Veenema to make the kick off. 60 minutes into the game, Co Fikkers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aanschot HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vreeswijk HC the free kick. Co Fikkers hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Coos Veenema received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Adriaan Houtman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Vreeswijk HC booed when Aanschot HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cees Kremer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serge Krijnenburgs short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Adriaan Houtman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adriaan Houtman made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Serge Krijnenburg sent off a good shot on target. Eddy Kiewit stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michael Schalkwijk's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. After 73rd play minutes Anton Boswijk shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Eddy Kiewit and just under the crossbar into goal. If Serge Krijnenburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Vreeswijk HC booed when Aanschot HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klaas Stegeman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vreeswijk HC's Domenik Molenaar shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 81st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Adriaan Houtman but with some difficulty. Eddy Kiewit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Schalkwijk, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Eddy Kiewit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Schalkwijk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adriaan Houtman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Coos Veenema in the 88th minute of play. Serge Krijnenburg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Adriaan Houtman made a huge save. In the 94th minute, Aanschot HC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Serge Krijnenburg fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Aanschot HC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
