The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Reinhard Dissels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otto Reitsma, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After having played for 14 minutes, Ted Jorna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Slenken's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Jorna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gybeland's Kristian Hosson got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th match minute, Slenken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Haas to maneuver through the defense. Reinhard Dissels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Reintjes in the 26th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Elbert Doren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kristian Hosson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gybeland's Otto Reitsma got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peter Haas during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Peter Haas hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Otto Reitsma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinhard Dissels having to interfere. If Kristian Hosson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Slenken players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gybeland were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ted Jorna to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute there was a penalty for Slenken. Mirko de Putter stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hans Bartele. 1-1. Otto Reitsma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Max Aalst's late challenge caught a Gybeland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Max Aalst helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th minute, Edward Reintjes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute of the match Mirko de Putter sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hans Bartele skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefano Roewen in the 67th minute of play forced Gybeland's goalkeeper Hans Bartele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Stefano Roewen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Stefano Roewen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans Bartele was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 77th match minute, Slenken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham van Rooijen to maneuver through the defense. Hans Bartele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stefano Roewen's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Max Aalst kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Reinhard Dissels made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristian Hosson in the 87th minute. Kristian Hosson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Haas kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Kristian Hosson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reinhard Dissels read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Edward Reintjes charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edward Reintjes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edward Reintjes hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gybeland's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mirko de Putter was slow to take the kick. During this time Slenken's players had a chance to rest. Gybeland's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
