Edward Reintjes charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 9th minute Jean-Paul Ronde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Bartele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Gybeland:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lauwerzijl:s goal. In the 24th match minute, Gybeland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Reintjes to maneuver through the defense. Iwan Zuiverloon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Bartele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Paul Ronde, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Edward Reintjes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Lauwerzijl's goalkeeper Henk Degens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kristian Hosson. After 42 played minutes Gybeland got a freekick which was hit by Edward Reintjes. Henk Degens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristian Hosson in the 45th minute. In the 47th play minute Kristian Hosson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Henk Degens. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Jean-Paul Ronde made the kick off in the second half. When Kristian Hosson came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Gybeland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristian Hosson couldn't finish the play. Otto Reitsma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Degens having to interfere. Lauwerzijl's Henk Degens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristian Hosson in the 62nd minute of play. Kristian Hosson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Henk Degens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Gybeland's goalkeeper Hans Bartele had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iwan Zuiverloon. Iwan Zuiverloon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
