The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rien Zethof showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Timo Zeegelaar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gijs Lokin having to make a save. Rien Zethof made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arjen Oosterhof in the 14th minute of play. Gijs Lokin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douwe Jacobs in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Appen SV's Arjen Oosterhof sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rien Zethof narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zuiderwoude FC's Rien Zethof played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klaus Verbeek in the 23rd minute of play. Rien Zethof showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaus Verbeek in the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of Appen SV booed when Zuiderwoude FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Appen SV's Dirk Abbenbroek tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, Eelco Wermans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zuiderwoude FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Appen SV the free kick. Boukjan Bosschaart struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Rien Zethof didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Appen SV. After a defensive mix-up in Zuiderwoude FC's zone, Klaus Verbeek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rien Zethof came out of the goal and Klaus Verbeek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Arjen Oosterhof managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Appen SV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arjen Oosterhof was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zuiderwoude FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eelco Wermans in the 47th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Appen SV's goalie and right to Jacco de Cock. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Appen SV's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arjen Oosterhof made a kick off. Zuiderwoude FC's Douwe Jacobs got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Timo Zeegelaar struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Gijs Lokin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zuiderwoude FC. Taco Perk hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Douwe Jacobs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boukjan Bosschaart kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Gijs Lokin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douwe Jacobs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gijs Lokin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timo Zeegelaar in the 76th minute of play. Douwe Jacobs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gijs Lokin having to interfere. Arjen Oosterhof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Rien Zethof tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Zuiderwoude FC's goalkeeper Rien Zethof, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Appen SV's Gijs Lokin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timo Zeegelaar in the 85th minute of play. Klaus Verbeek took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rien Zethof. Rien Zethof dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Douwe Jacobs scored 2-2 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gijs Lokin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
