If Maurice Blanker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stephan Borker to strike the kick off in the second half. Maurice Blanker struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Stefan Baan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nederland HC. After a defensive mix-up in Biezenheuvel's zone, Maurice Blanker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorn Schildkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Riemer Cremers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riemer Cremers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorn Schildkamp in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Biezenheuvel's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan Borker came free, but Stefan Baan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Nederland HC's Maurice Blanker ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stefan Baan. Stefan Baan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Stefan Baan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephan Borker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Meindert van Nistelrooij kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Stefan Baan had great luck who in the 76thth minute grab hold of the ball when Stephan Borker from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Riemer Cremers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorn Schildkamp in the 80th minute of play. If Stephan Borker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorn Schildkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riemer Cremers having to interfere. Riemer Cremers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorn Schildkamp's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. If Mario Witters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stephan Borker in the 92nd minute of play forced Biezenheuvel's goalkeeper Stefan Baan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stefan Baan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephan Borker in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Nederland HC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
