Bert Theuws sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 10 minutes, Stephan Borker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nederland HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephan Borker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Nederland HC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Iwan van Zwieten hit a great ball. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nederland HC's goalkeeper Riemer Cremers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stephan Borker struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Rik Rooy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nederland HC. If Bert Theuws had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute Stephan Borker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rik Rooy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 played minutes Nederland HC got a freekick which was hit by Henk Derksen. Riemer Cremers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bert Theuws in the 25th minute of the match. When Bert Theuws, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 28 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Riemer Cremers was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kees Lurling during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nederland HC! In the 32nd minute there was a penalty for Voorne. Kurt Swerts stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Riemer Cremers. 0-1. Voorne's Han Huisman got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iwan van Zwieten kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Riemer Cremers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Han Huisman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stephan Borker to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Otto Daalmeyer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Voorne's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nederland HC the free kick. In the 53rd minute, Iwan van Zwieten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bert Theuws received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Riemer Cremers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riemer Cremers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Han Huisman, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Bert Theuws fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riemer Cremers having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Nederland HC's goalkeeper Riemer Cremers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bert Theuws. 74 minutes into the match, Nederland HC's Stephan Borker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rik Rooy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Han Huisman dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Riemer Cremers, 0-3. Riemer Cremers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Han Huisman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes Nederland HC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kurt Swerts who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Voorne's Riemer Swerts getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Riemer Cremers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bert Theuws, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stephan Borker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rik Rooy having to interfere.
