Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nigel Winter kicked off to start the match. Stijn Geurtsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but David Mulder made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nigel Winter in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Mulder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Albert de Graaf charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albert de Graaf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Maaldrift V.V. booed when Sassenheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert de Graaf didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Coenraad Elshot cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Frank Zuid was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Stijn Geurtsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Nigel Winter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. David Mulder was a little too slow when Gijsbert Kuijpers got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Coenraad Elshot to strike the kick off in the second half. Sassenheim's David Mulder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nigel Winter in the 51st minute of play. Stijn Geurtsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Mulder having to interfere. David Mulder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nigel Winter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stijn Geurtsen in the 60th minute of play forced Sassenheim's goalkeeper David Mulder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nigel Winter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sjoerd Kauffeld got free with Frank Zuid in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, Maaldrift V.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Coenraad Elshot came free, but Frank Zuid reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nigel Winter struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. David Mulder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maaldrift V.V.. Sassenheim's Sjoerd Kauffeld got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Coenraad Elshot got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sjoerd Kauffeld who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Frank Zuid when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
