Wesley Saanen hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Taco van der Vaart shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ruben Vledder showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Felix Remmelts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Floris Bleiswijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When Franck Plescher came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Slijkwijk HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franck Plescher couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Felix Remmelts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruben Vledder was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. 69 minutes into the match, Slijkwijk HC's goalkeeper Anton Ottens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hubert Zuurman. Hubert Zuurman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Anton Ottens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Floris Bleiswijk struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Anton Ottens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nijkleaster. The crowd rose to their feet as Floris Bleiswijk kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anton Ottens. That made the score 0-1 in the 88 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Floris Bleiswijk in the 94th minute of play forced Slijkwijk HC's goalkeeper Anton Ottens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Slijkwijk HC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Nijkleaster's performance. The match ended with a win for Nijkleaster.
