Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Arjen de Jong successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 10th minute, but Arjen de Jong got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Zelder FC hanging dry this time. Douwe Ottenhof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Arjen de Jong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13thth minute of the game Douwe Ottenhof who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zelder FC's Arjen de Jong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Douwe Ottenhof sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Joost Sándor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Geerts having to interfere. Jan Geerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remond Hebert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Remond Hebert to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Douwe Ottenhof got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jan Geerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remond Hebert in the 63rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Zelder FC defense, Douwe Ottenhof kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arjen de Jong. The Zelder FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arjen de Jong should have stopped the shot. When Maurits Haar fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Echterbosch SV's protests and gave Maurits Haar a yellow card for diving instead. 80 minutes into the game, one of Echterbosch SV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Arjen de Jong didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maarten Iepmann went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Zelder FC's Arjen de Jong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maarten Iepmann in the 91st minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Martien Ommen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zelder FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Echterbosch SV the free kick. Zelder FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
