The referee showed Co Degenkamp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th match minute, Hemelum HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Co Degenkamp to maneuver through the defense. Hans Steelman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Fernando Lange tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michel Roordink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Lange came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by IJsselsteyn's Hans Steelman. But to his dismay, Hans Steelman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sjef Joppets during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Hemelum HC booed when IJsselsteyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sjef Joppets didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Jan Wensing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinier Dol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Co Degenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maarten Hagenouw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Lange having to interfere. After 33 minutes, Rudolf Tollenaar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hemelum HC and the IJsselsteyn players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jordy Reinhard made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, IJsselsteyn's goal looked a bit too open when Jordy Reinhard came free, but Reinier Dol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Steelman in the 59th minute of play forced Hemelum HC's goalkeeper Fernando Lange to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hemelum HC's Jan Wensing got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Hemelum HC's Hans de Wolf got a free kick in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Roordink in the 71st minute of play forced Hemelum HC's goalkeeper Fernando Lange to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Hemelum HC's Emiel Popping got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Michel Roordink's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernando Lange was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. After 74 minutes, Michel Roordink made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Hemelum HC's Fernando Lange tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fernando Lange showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Steelman, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Wensing got free with Reinier Dol in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Hemelum HC booed when IJsselsteyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maarten Hagenouw didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Jan Wensing managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hemelum HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Wensing was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinier Dol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
