The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If David Meyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Scharendijke FC fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Scharendijke FC's Bram Iepstra looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 9 minutes, Ruben Pals managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Landsmeer FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruben Pals was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Scharendijke FC's Ramon Melis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Pals in the 10th minute of play. Ate Zeeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Ruben Boswijk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Landsmeer FC's goalkeeper Ruben Boswijk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Meyer. Bram Iepstra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Boswijk having to interfere. Ruben Pals received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ramon Melis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dirk Jan Heerspink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, Scharendijke FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dirk Jan Heerspink came free, but Ramon Melis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ruben Pals's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramon Melis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Scharendijke FC's David Meyer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ruben Boswijk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 46 played minutes Scharendijke FC got a freekick which was hit by Timmie Blind. In the game's 47th minute Landsmeer FC's Jean-Paul Cramer took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Ramon Melis and thus the score was 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bram Iepstra to strike the kick off in the second half. Dirk Jan Heerspink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Scharendijke FC were awarded a corner in the 95th minute after Landsmeer FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mart Karremans took the corner. After taking down the ball on Scharendijke FC's corner Mart Karremans fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ruben Boswijk quite easily take care of the ball. In the 96th minute, Dirk Jan Heerspink reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ramon Melis. The goal made the score 2-2. Scharendijke FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Landsmeer FC had controlled the match.
