Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ab Borg got the match started through his kick off. Philip Winter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudolf Mook having to make a save. Luuk van Rhijns short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Rudolf Mook to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 20th minute of the match, Luuk van Rhijn got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rudolf Mook was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ab Borg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arjen van der Schaaf having to interfere. Gieterveen's Rudolf Mook proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Gieterveen from getting a goal against them. Dirk Degenkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Arjen van der Schaaf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gieterveen's zone, Luuk van Rhijn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudolf Mook came out of the goal and Luuk van Rhijn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rudolf Mook stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Philip Winter's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. If Fokke Tamminga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Philip Winter was the one to do the kick off. After 59 minutes, Philip Winter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bovenveen and the Gieterveen players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Ab Borg came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Gieterveen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ab Borg couldn't finish the play. Arjen van der Schaaf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ab Borg in the 63rd minute of play. Rudolf Mook made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philip Winter in the 65th minute of play. If Philip Winter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gieterveen's Rudolf Mook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luuk van Rhijn in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Fokke Tamminga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rudolf Mook stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luuk van Rhijn's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ab Borg in the 73rd minute of play forced Bovenveen's goalkeeper Arjen van der Schaaf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerrie Lange charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerrie Lange the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gerrie Lange hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Dirk Degenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bovenveen's Arjen van der Schaaf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ab Borg in the 85th minute of play. Dirk Degenkamp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Bovenveen booed when Gieterveen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fokke Tamminga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ab Borg hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. A collision led to Gieterveen getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Fokke Tamminga hit a great ball. If Philip Winter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
