Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gening FC's Bart Stout started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bart Stout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sexbierum HC's Reinhard Hulshof got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Sexbierum HC's Frits Pander slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bernard Moorlag. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. Foeke Höhenstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bart Stout in the 13th minute of play. Jouke Degenkamp kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Frits Pander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Bernard Moorlag tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rinus Saenen kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gening FC's zone, Frits Pander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernard Moorlag came out of the goal and Frits Pander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Frits Pander came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Sexbierum HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frits Pander couldn't finish the play. Reinhard Hulshof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Bernard Moorlag tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Sexbierum HC's Bernard Moorlag threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Frits Pander, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Foeke Höhenstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart Stout in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frits Pander to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Bart Stout shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Foeke Höhenstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Reinhard Hulshof ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernard Moorlag was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Tommie Stok blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Foeke Höhenstein having to make a save. Frits Pander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Bernard Moorlag tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tommie Stok had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralf Sans hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Tommie Stok sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bart Stout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Foeke Höhenstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinhard Hulshof in the 85th minute of play forced Gening FC's goalkeeper Bernard Moorlag to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Sexbierum HC's Foeke Höhenstein got control of the ball when Tommie Stok tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gening FC's Bernard Moorlag played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinhard Hulshof in the 92nd minute of play. Bernard Moorlag showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinhard Hulshof, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A collision led to Sexbierum HC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Wim de Haan hit a great ball. Gening FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
