Arie van der Woude fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolf Bosschaart having to interfere. Heuvel HC's Roland Zandstra got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Arie van der Woude fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dolf Bosschaart, passed just outside the right post. Roland Zandstra struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Dolf Bosschaart didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heuvel HC. An unexpected shot in the 14th minute by Roland Zandstra got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ruben de Lange during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ruben de Lange kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Roland Zandstra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heuvel HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roland Zandstra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dolf Bosschaart breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerwin Schol charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerwin Schol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pascal Spijkerman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Aad Kloppenburg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aad Kloppenburg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edwin Spijkerman's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Aad Kloppenburg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascal Spijkerman in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Arie van der Woude made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Arie van der Woude shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dolf Bosschaart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin Spijkerman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Aad Kloppenburg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peter Kroon was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 59th match minute, Garnisse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Kroon to maneuver through the defense. After 61 minutes, Roland Zandstra made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Garnisse's Dolf Bosschaart tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 66 minutes into the match, Heuvel HC's Arie van der Woude sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dolf Bosschaart narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Heuvel HC defense, Pascal Spijkerman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aad Kloppenburg. The Heuvel HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aad Kloppenburg should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arie van der Woude in the 97th minute of play forced Garnisse's goalkeeper Dolf Bosschaart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Heuvel HC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Garnisse had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
