Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Felix van Basten kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute Felix van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Hendrik van Amersfoort saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Hendrik van Amersfoort made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cor Veldkamp in the 9th minute of play. After 9 played minutes Schinnen HC got a freekick which was hit by Jean-Paul Smibum. Felix van Basten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lieveren FC's goalkeeper Matthijs Hulzebos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Robert Zegeling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthijs Hulzebos having to interfere. After having played for 18 minutes, Robert Zegeling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Schinnen HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Zegeling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cor Veldkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Lieveren FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Rafael Hofland hit a great ball. Matthijs Hulzebos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guus Lyesen in the 28th minute of the match. Schinnen HC's Jan Hendrik van Amersfoort played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix van Basten in the 34th minute of play. If Felix van Basten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johannes de Vos hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Lieveren FC's Matthijs Hulzebos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guus Lyesen in the 41st minute of play. Jacco Salens charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacco Salens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jacco Salens hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Robert Zegeling might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matthijs Hulzebos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Zegeling ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guus Lyesen to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Felix van Basten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lieveren FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix van Basten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cor Veldkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Hendrik van Amersfoort showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix van Basten, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 65 played minutes, Schinnen HC's Jorn Meder shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Matthijs Hulzebos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Schinnen HC reached it. When Jouke Rooze fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lieveren FC's protests and gave Jouke Rooze a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Jouke Rooze hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix van Basten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Jan Hendrik van Amersfoort tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan Hendrik van Amersfoort made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Cor Veldkamp sent off a good shot on target. Robert Zegeling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthijs Hulzebos having to interfere. Robert Zegeling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Matthijs Hulzebos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cor Veldkamp came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Lieveren FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cor Veldkamp couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute, one of Schinnen HC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Schinnen HC. When the match had been going on for 96 minutes, Lieveren FC's Rafael Hofland got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jan Hendrik van Amersfoort. Lieveren FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
