Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Guus Lyesen started the match with the kick off. Edwin Spijkerman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 6th minute, Pascal Spijkerman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Alexander Robben was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garnisse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schinnen HC the free kick. In the 8th match minute, Garnisse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Robben to maneuver through the defense. After 10 minutes, Guus Lyesen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schinnen HC and the Garnisse players grew even worse after the yellow card. Guus Lyesen kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. When Robert Zegeling came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Schinnen HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Zegeling couldn't finish the play. Guus Lyesen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolf Bosschaart having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Zegeling in the 16th minute of play forced Garnisse's goalkeeper Dolf Bosschaart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Gerwin Schol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garnisse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schinnen HC the free kick. In the 19th minute, Gerwin Schol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute, Peter Kroon reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jan Hendrik van Amersfoort. The goal made the score 1-0. Schinnen HC's Robert Zegeling got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dolf Bosschaart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guus Lyesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edwin Spijkerman to make the kick off. Guus Lyesen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Dolf Bosschaart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Garnisse's Dolf Bosschaart got control of the ball when Robert Zegeling tried to sneak it across the goal line. The attack was good, but when Edwin Spijkerman in the 69th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Robert Zegeling blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dolf Bosschaart having to make a save. 87 minutes into the match, Schinnen HC's Robert Zegeling sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dolf Bosschaart narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Robert Zegeling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Garnisse's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
