Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the match, Castelre's goal looked a bit too open when Ate Willemsen came free, but Nick Zeevenhoven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Pepijn Hagenouw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castelre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eemster the free kick. Ate Willemsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Nick Zeevenhoven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Castelre's Nick Zeevenhoven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ate Willemsen in the 11th minute of play. Bob Schild sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Castelre's zone, Bob Schild stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nick Zeevenhoven came out of the goal and Bob Schild tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ate Willemsen came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Eemster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ate Willemsen couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Eemster's Wilco Bartele got a free kick in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Bob Schild managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eemster's supporters rose to their feet, but Bob Schild was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nick Zeevenhoven breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Ate Willemsen made the kick off in the second half. Nick Zeevenhoven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Schild in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Eemster's zone, Cobus Owusu Abeyie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Kip came out of the goal and Cobus Owusu Abeyie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bob Schild had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cobus Owusu Abeyie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Peter Kip tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Eemster's goalkeeper Peter Kip had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cobus Owusu Abeyie. After a defensive mix-up in Eemster's zone, Elco Geerdink stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Kip came out of the goal and Elco Geerdink tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bob Schild fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nick Zeevenhoven having to interfere. A collision led to Castelre getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Ricky Moorman hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Ate Willemsen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Eemster fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Peter Kip took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elco Geerdink, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bob Schild took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nick Zeevenhoven. Nick Zeevenhoven dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Cobus Owusu Abeyie might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Kip. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cobus Owusu Abeyie ran back to his position shaking his head. Cobus Owusu Abeyie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Kip having to interfere. Cobus Owusu Abeyie's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Peter Kip firmly grabbed it by the left post. Castelre's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
