Mathias Beerthuis might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bart Bijlsma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mathias Beerthuis ran back to his position shaking his head. Dennis Roelofs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Elroy Bosschaart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luc van der Bij during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Elroy Bosschaart showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dennis Roelofs, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute Dennis Roelofs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elroy Bosschaart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elroy Bosschaart made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Benjamin de Zee sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Flushing HC booed when Tjeppenboer VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dirk Jan Breinburg didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Flushing HC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Reinhard Middel hit a great ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flushing HC's goalkeeper Bart Bijlsma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Tjeppenboer VV's Mathias Beerthuis, in the 30th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Tjeppenboer VV. 33 minutes into the match, Flushing HC's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Beerthuis came free, but Bart Bijlsma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Flushing HC's Benjamin de Zee sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elroy Bosschaart narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dennis Roelofs was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 44th minute. Flushing HC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Benjamin de Zee could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Elroy Bosschaart made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell René Rijaard to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Flushing HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casper Schirring to maneuver through the defense. René Rijaards short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Bart Bijlsma to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when René Rijaard got free with Bart Bijlsma in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, René Rijaard made a precise shot to the right of Bart Bijlsma. Flushing HC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Elroy Bosschaart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Roelofs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elroy Bosschaart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin de Zee in the 75th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Flushing HC's goalkeeper Bart Bijlsma had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by René Rijaard. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tjeppenboer VV fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! In the 95th minute Benjamin de Zee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elroy Bosschaart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Flushing HC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tjeppenboer VV's performance. The match ended with a win for Tjeppenboer VV.
