Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Noord's Marc Heerspink started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berry Kramer in the 3rd minute of play forced Noord's goalkeeper Stephan Moermans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marc Heerspink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Noord getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Emiel Dalmeijer hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Lier FC's Berry Kramer got a free kick in the 18th minute. 1-0 became the score in the 21st minute when Emiel Dalmeijer elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Berry Kramer kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Bart Enzing hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Stephan Moermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berry Kramer in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Marc Heerspink reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jochem Blanker. The goal made the score 2-0. After a rather tough play, Noord's Humberto Oss got a free kick in the 31st minute. Stephan Moermans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sjef Traa's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Pascall Jorna kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sjef Traa in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stephan Moermans saved Noord from getting behind. If Marc Heerspink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jochem Blanker came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Noord's Emiel Dalmeijer. But to his dismay, Emiel Dalmeijer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Berry Kramer to make the kick off. Jochem Blanker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc Heerspink, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Lier FC's Paul de Mol got a free kick in the 58th minute. Emiel Dalmeijer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jochem Blanker having to interfere. Jochem Blanker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Heerspink, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Noord booed when Lier FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Huizing didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emiel Dalmeijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stephan Moermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berry Kramer in the 75th minute of play. The supporters of Lier FC booed when Noord was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marc Heerspink didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 80 minutes, Marc Heerspink managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Noord's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc Heerspink was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Lier FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Heerspink came free, but Jochem Blanker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84thth minute of the game Marc Heerspink who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lier FC's Jochem Blanker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Sjef Traa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Stephan Moermans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jochem Blanker came out of the goal in the 99th minute to try and stop a shot by Noord's Marc Heerspink. But to his dismay, Marc Heerspink quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lier FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Noord.
