Ted Witting was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Giovanni Hansma capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Giovanni Hansma really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 9 minutes into the game, Mike Wielens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ted Witting was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Ron Veentjer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Vaartbroek booed when Vriescheloo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Steyns didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ed Lucius charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Maurice van Amersfoort sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Arjen Zwiers fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vriescheloo's protests and gave Arjen Zwiers a yellow card for diving instead.
