Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Roland Boshuis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Bern SC booed when Opwierda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Bot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aad Zijlstra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Schild in the 4th minute of the match. In the 5thth minute of the game Roland Boshuis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bern SC's Simon de Coninck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 9th minute Edgar Schild shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aad Zijlstra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roland Boshuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Simon de Coninck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But to his dismay, Edgar Schild quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 27 minutes into the match, Edgar Schild had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aad Zijlstra. Opwierda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Schild was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Fokke Mastebroek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Bessing fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aad Zijlstra having to interfere. A collision led to Opwierda getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Fokke Mastebroek hit a great ball. Aad Zijlstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Bessing in the 40th minute of play. Opwierda's Gerard Valentijn got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roland Boshuis struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Simon de Coninck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Opwierda. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 53rd minute, Gerard Valentijn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Simon de Coninck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Boshuis in the 55th minute of play. Edgar Schilds short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Aad Zijlstra to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gerard Valentijn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon de Coninck having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Bern SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Valentijn came free, but Simon de Coninck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gerard Valentijn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roland Boshuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Simon de Coninck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simon de Coninck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roland Boshuis, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Opwierda's Roland Boshuis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simon de Coninck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Opwierda's goalkeeper Aad Zijlstra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Schild. In the 92nd minute, Bern SC's Eric Bessing dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. In the 99th minute Jacco Gronden suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Eric Bessing's late challenge caught a Opwierda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Bessing helped the player get up and apologised. In the 100th minute, Eric Bessing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
