Mark Friebel started the match with the kick off. Jelle Buckinx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Friebel in the 5th minute of play. With a little luck, Gellikum HC's Pieter Jansen got control of the ball when Brain de Vries tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jelle Buckinx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter van Asseldonk in the 12th minute of play. Brain de Vries fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter Jansen having to interfere. Boompjesdijk HC's Jelle Buckinx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Friebel in the 19th minute of play. Mark Nedergaard kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Peter van Asseldonk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jelle Buckinx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter van Asseldonk, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute, Mark Friebel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Peter van Asseldonk came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Gellikum HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter van Asseldonk couldn't finish the play. Aad Bemmel kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Boompjesdijk HC's Jelle Buckinx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter van Asseldonk in the 42nd minute of play. In the 47thth minute of the game Peter van Asseldonk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boompjesdijk HC's Jelle Buckinx was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ferdinant Jonge to strike the kick off in the second half. Brain de Vries fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter Jansen having to interfere. After 55 played minutes Gellikum HC got a freekick which was hit by Giel Mook. When Brain de Vries came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Boompjesdijk HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brain de Vries couldn't finish the play. After 59 minutes, Jonathan Lurling mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gellikum HC and the Boompjesdijk HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gellikum HC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 58th minute. Penalty! Gellikum HC:s Pieter Jansen showed great skill when he stopped Joop Struik:s penalty. After 64 played minutes Gellikum HC got a freekick which was hit by Peter van Asseldonk. Ferdinant Jonge kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. If Brain de Vries had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Giovanni Zwart fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gellikum HC's protests and gave Giovanni Zwart a yellow card for diving instead. Giovanni Zwart hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Giel Mook kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Brain de Vries had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gellikum HC's Peter van Asseldonk got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ferdinant Jonge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Boompjesdijk HC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gellikum HC's performance. The match ended with a win for Gellikum HC.
