The supporters of Borne VV booed when Papenhoven HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nick de Zwart didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 4 played minutes Borne VV got a freekick which was hit by Falco Raatjes. Billy Lammens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruud Kromkamp in the 5th minute of the match. Niels Janssen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ted de Boer hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. When Joop Baars fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borne VV's protests and gave Joop Baars a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Papenhoven HC booed when Borne VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joop Baars didn't get a good kick on the ball. Papenhoven HC's Niels Janssen got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Papenhoven HC's Ruud Kromkamp got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Niels Janssen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruud Kromkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Billy Lammens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Ruud Kromkamp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Papenhoven HC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karsten van Herwijnen made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Borne VV's zone, Niels Janssen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Billy Lammens came out of the goal and Niels Janssen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute, Ruud Kromkamp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Billy Lammens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niels Janssen in the 67th minute of play forced Borne VV's goalkeeper Billy Lammens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruud Kromkamp got free with Billy Lammens in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Billy Lammens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niels Janssen in the 85th minute of play. Niels Janssen might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Billy Lammens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niels Janssen ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ruud Kromkamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Papenhoven HC's Niels Janssen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Billy Lammens. Billy Lammens yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Billy Lammens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niels Janssen in the 98th minute of the match. Papenhoven HC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
