Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dries Scheepstra started the match with the kick off. Jurjen Boshuis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco Kip's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Karsten Boezeman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Leendert van den Eede managed to get in a good position for a shot. Darp's supporters rose to their feet, but Leendert van den Eede was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jurjen Boshuis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Darp's Marco Kip got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otto van Someren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dries Scheepstra in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Gregor van Kampen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gregor van Kampen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dries Scheepstra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto van Someren having to interfere. Marco Kip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jurjen Boshuis having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Fernando Booy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 44 minutes, Marco Kip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Darp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Kip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marco Kip to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Klaus Meijs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Darp's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boxtel the free kick. Vincent Andriessen charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Marco Kip took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Jurjen Boshuis to make any attempt to save it. Dries Scheepstra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Otto van Someren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Dries Scheepstra took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otto van Someren. Otto van Someren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The audience was convinced that Marco Kip's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jurjen Boshuis was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. 77 minutes into the match, Boxtel's goalkeeper Jurjen Boshuis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leendert van den Eede. After 84 played minutes Darp got a freekick which was hit by Klaus Meijs. 87 minutes into the match, Dries Scheepstra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Otto van Someren. Darp's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dries Scheepstra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. If Leendert van den Eede had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
