Rekken's Mitchell Ritsma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joris Bosschaart in the 5th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnout van der Linden during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rekken's Arnout van der Linden got a free kick in the 24th minute. A collision led to Rekken getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Mickael Tijink hit a great ball. Godfried Lans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Godfried Lans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitchell Ritsma having to interfere. Franck Lans kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Jacques Bruinsma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Willem Melis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Jan-Willem Melis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacques Bruinsma having to interfere. If Godfried Lans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mitchell Ritsma was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Godfried Lans showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 64 minute of play. Rein Jeronimus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Rekken defense, Godfried Lans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mitchell Ritsma. The Rekken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mitchell Ritsma should have stopped the shot. 96 minutes into the match, Kandelaar's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Willem Melis came free, but Jacques Bruinsma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kandelaar's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
