Kristof Reintjes hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Dussen FC's Egbert Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilco Krijnenburg in the 12th minute of play. Egbert Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilco Krijnenburg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Derk Nieuwendijk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egbert Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egbert Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnout Zomer, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Kristof Reintjes kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Dussen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilco Krijnenburg came free, but Egbert Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilco Krijnenburg in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egbert Reis saved Dussen FC from getting behind. 43 minutes into the game, Dussen FC's John Franssen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carsten Borgman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Derk Nieuwendijk was the one to do the kick off. If Derk Nieuwendijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the game, Dimitrie de Vries was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dussen FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nederwoud HC the free kick. In the 53rd minute, Dimitrie de Vries hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serge Sans in the 58th minute of play forced Nederwoud HC's goalkeeper Carsten Borgman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilco Krijnenburg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Egbert Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Dussen FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Nederwoud HC a penalty, 64 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cobus Reiling, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Dussen FC's Egbert Reis. 2-1. When Serge Sans came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Dussen FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serge Sans couldn't finish the play. Egbert Reis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilco Krijnenburg in the 74th minute. In the 84th match minute, Dussen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitrie de Vries to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Egbert Reis managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Nederwoud HC's Wilco Krijnenburg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 98th minute, Joep Sanders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nederwoud HC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
