The referee ignored Nederwoud HC's protests and gave Derk Nieuwendijk a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes Nederwoud HC got a freekick which was hit by Derk Nieuwendijk. If Robert-Jan van Loen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cobus Reiling fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nederwoud HC's protests and gave Cobus Reiling a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nederwoud HC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Cobus Reiling hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Falco Struik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Falco Struik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Robert-Jan van Loen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cobus de Boer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilco Krijnenburg in the 39th minute of play. Falco Struik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carsten Borgman having to interfere. Wilco Krijnenburg struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Cobus de Boer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nederwoud HC. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Carsten Borgman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Nederwoud HC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Emile Daalmeyer hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert-Jan van Loen in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carsten Borgman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee felt a red card was in order, 72 minutes into the game, when Koos Knops put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Laurens:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nederwoud HC:s goal. In the 79thth minute of the game Derk Nieuwendijk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Laurens's Cobus de Boer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Laurens's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert-Jan van Loen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carsten Borgman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert-Jan van Loen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Laurens had played much better football throughout.
