Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ed Smits kicked off to start the match. Jeroen Lever received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Frits van Gastel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sandfirden Excelsior's zone, Martijn de Lange stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melvin de Visser came out of the goal and Martijn de Lange tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute, Robin Roeters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dries Bogarde, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Pascall Pik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Sandfirden Excelsior's goalkeeper Melvin de Visser had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martijn de Lange. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sandfirden Excelsior fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! Carlo Butter hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Sinselbeek's Martijn de Lange got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. From a short distance, Sinselbeek's Tim Zeegers, in the 31st minute, tried to place the ball behind Melvin de Visser, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. Martijn de Lange received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Melvin de Visser came out and tried to block the shot, but Martijn de Lange slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 31st minute. Frits van Gastel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeroen Lever in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th match minute, Sandfirden Excelsior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dries Bogarde to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute Tim Zeegers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melvin de Visser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Sandfirden Excelsior's goalkeeper Melvin de Visser had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martijn de Lange. In the 48th of the match, Tim Zeegers tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Melvin de Visser got in the way and made a wonderful save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tim Zeegers made a kick off. Melvin de Visser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Zeegers in the 57th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Sandfirden Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Martijn de Lange came free, but Melvin de Visser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th match minute, Sandfirden Excelsior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Butter to maneuver through the defense. After 70 minutes of play, Sandfirden Excelsior's Ed Smits made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frits van Gastel was left in no man's land by his defense there! 73 minutes into the match, Sinselbeek's goal looked a bit too open when Rein Westerhof came free, but Frits van Gastel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeroen Lever got free with Frits van Gastel in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeroen Lever received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Frits van Gastel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Sandfirden Excelsior players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
